Gear Knob won't screw off

Is there a knack? I was expecting a bit of resistance, but when I tried screwing it off, it's solid stuck down. Unless my screwing technique is bad. It's just not coming off.

OK, so it just a straightforward anticlockwise turn. I'll get a wrench on it, and see if that works. I just thought it may be one of those push-down-then-up gears, that release from a catch, like my mini. Yes, it's seized well.

Yes, well on my '08 Porter (just undone it) and it was on my '94 1.0l (memories of driving without the knob - don't ask). I can't see any in between being any different unless it's been stuck on if the thread went.

When they are loosey goosey, people put glue on the thread and screw them on.

It'll unscrew given enough force.
