Hijet versus Porter
There may be a chance to swap my 2003 1.3 Hijet with 32,000 miles on the clock, for a 2012 1.3 Porter with 14,000 miles on the clock. Apart from the age and mileage, are these essentially the same vehicle and engine, presumably with the same problems? Many thanks for any advice.

Yes, essentially the same vehicle.

I think Raggy's right but I've not seen one as late as that. UK registrations mainly stopped in 2009 and imports restarted in 2012 - I don't know what changes were made (if any) apart from the front re-style. I might be interested in that 2012 one if you're not, Roddy.

Re: Hijet versus Porter
Sorry, I put the wrong date. DVLA state that it was first registered in 2009. First registered with DVLA in 2012. But it had MOTs from 2012 as would be expected. It has a campervan body on it, as does mine. I have a lad pestering me for mine. Now he has found this one and is offering a swap. I am very suspicious to be honest. From my position, it's a no brainer to not swap, but there are so many scams around just now. He offered me 6k a couple of weeks ago. I said thank you but what would I buy to replace mine. This one is advertised at 7,300, so maybe he is genuinely upping the price and offering me the replacement. Campervan prices have gone through the roof this last couple of months. I shall let you know what I decide.

Be careful, check it, see it etc before committing to it.

Just to let you know that the deal did not come off. Pretty much as I expected really, but I still have my own bungalow which I am very happy with. I like that term!
