replacement rad
Hi
I recently bought a front damaged 04 hijet van.
I needed a rad and seeing they were around £175 i decided to find a replacement.
I settled with a Honda Civic 3 core aluminum half rad with a built in fan.
to fit I had to re position the lower hangers and put an angled bracket on the floor fixing, i had to also lengthen the top mount and move it over slightly.
The honda rad has a top hose so i had to use a 90 deg hose and an angled joiner pipe. to slide the fan in i needed to panel beat the channel a bit to make it wider. on the whole it looks well.
if a standard civic rad was used i think it would slide up without any modification to the channel

Re: replacement rad
thanks for this Carl, looking at an alternative myself so this could be quite helpful. Looking at the picture the bottom of the rad looks quite low, whats your final ground clearance measurement and how has the new rad performed in relation to the usual complaints of Hijets overheating ?
Thanks,
Graham.

Re: replacement rad
The raditor you want is a Denso DRM22002
They are listed as for the Piaggio porter 1.4d.
But they are the same radiator as the 1.3 Hijet.

You can get them for £60
Truth be know I used to buy them in bulk e.g. 10's or 20's and get an even better price on them, then list them on ebay with a pretty good profit margin.
