Very proud camper virgin
After years of flirting with the idea of a camper I impulse bought a hijet 2002 1.3 a few weeks ago. It's been lovingly converted by a bloke in Swindon (not to DVLA standard so I have some work to do). I wish I'd done this years ago. What a fantastic little vehicle. I love it. The only down side is I am totally not very mechanical minded or very good with DIY. I feel a bit thick when I read some of the posts on here cos you all seem so knowledgeable. So, I will apologise now if I end up asking daft questions.

Welcome to the jungle! Daft question are OK if you ask nicely, everyone has to start somewhere. Good luck with the van, post up some images so we can see what you are doing.

Cheers
When I work out how to post photos I will. I'm not very bright when it comes to computers. Here's a description to be going on with: Red, and I've had to remove some of the palm trees, surf AND board. I've kept some of the go faster stripes

Re: Very proud camper virgin
No use asking me for sure. But welcome. As Pvdb says, there is plenty of help on here. Bit more of an introduction and where you live is a good start.
We have had a few one hit wonders and some that are just downright ignorant. Long as you don't fall into either category, you have started off on the right foot.
Hi-Jet's are like Marmite. You will either love yours or end up hating it. As Raggy said, ask away. Its the safest way to learn rather than blindly ripping your Hi-Jet apart looking for answers.

Hmm, ignorant posters. I hope I won't fall into that category. Don't know what sort of an introduction to give other than I'm assuming I consider myself quite long in the tooth for this game, hense the name. Famale and from London. As yet I don't have very many interesting camper related stories or issues to disclose. Other than to say I already have a bit of a cooling system anxiety. The van is fine when not incumbered by long journey in slow/stop start traffic.

Guess the previous owner stopped a bit too quick for the car behind. But in a Hi-Jet. They aren't exactly up there with good brakes.
Think I might have a spare red tailgate in my stores. Shame you are up in London.

Re: Very proud camper virgin
Sure thing. The conversion was done by the previous owner, but my first job was the double burner. I'm rather proud of my work, though it's just a temporary solution. My plan is to eventually make a pull out kitchen unit.
