Track rod ends tie rod ends different types
My van has failed the MOT on a broken sliding door handle (this is a long story but getting it sorted), and track rod end. I've ordered 2 sets of Quinton Hazel track rod ends and both are with a female thread and mine needs the male thread. I've rung up about 15 companies asking if they can either send me a photo or confirm if the thread is male or female and all they say is give me the vehicle reg and we'll check I've been down this road twice and have 4 brand new incorrect track rod ends on my dining room table.
Does anyone know if the part numbers QR5307S and QR5308S are correct for the male threaded ones. Any help really appreciated as the wife has no transport at the moment and i need to get it back on the road ASAP.

I had this problem too some years back. I thought I'd made a note of part No.s at the time, but can't find it. There's a page on Amazon showing male thread on a QR5308S, and eurocarparts show male threads on these 2 pages:
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Daihatsu_Hijet_1.0_1995/p/car-parts/steering/suspension-and-steering/track-rod-and-track-rod-end/?60656027J&1&61ce480398049d38bc9583d8a2eb3e4847a18eaa&000349

They suggest a 6-week wait but phoning your local branch may help. Just be aware that illustrations in parts catalogues may not always be accurate, but you should be able to return the item if the picture is part of the description and doesn't state 'library photo' or similar. The Blueprint cataloge doesn't list T/R/E's for Hijets as far as I can see.

I think QR5308S has an external thread.
While QR5307S is a cast unit with a drilled and threaded hole.
But don't blame me if I'm wrong!!

Can you photo each part number and ball joint with accurate information regarding threads and gender.
Re: Track rod ends tie rod ends different types
I'm having to replace the whole set of tie rod ends and as far as I can make out, 2 of each of the aforementioned part numbers makes a complete set - each number can be used for the outer and the inner on the opposite side, ie drivers side outer & passengers side inner. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
I need to replace the tie-rod also (some eejit Jack the lad thought it would be fun to play banger racing as I was turning into an acute right junction and it buckled into a banana shape) so if anyone can help me out on this or knows of a supplier it would be much appreciated.

Before you buy a Track Control Arm, measure the length of the Tie Bar from the end of the thread to the end of the rod where it is welded to the arm.
From memory it 24" as last year members were buying them and finding out that the Tie Rod supplied was 26" long.
