Coolant Pipe rusty

Hi,

I have a 1998 993cc Daihatsu Hijet on of the metal coolant pipes that runs under the engine has become rusty, my local mechanic has welded it up twice now and I have put radweld in but its gone again and leaked all the water out. The mechanic has said its not worth trying to weld it up. I have scoured the internet looking for aa replacement but cant find any. I have even spoken to some one about getting on made but its too complex a pipe. Without getting this part as far as I can see the van will have to be broken down and scrapped

Sure you looked on ebay? There is one 993 being broken here for spares Ebay, not sure what 993 spares Woodie has but he may be along soon if he can help.

Cheers woodie have sent a photo, and yes there are some on eBay but I have either not received a reply or seem to be met with a strange reluctance for people to be bothered to remove the pipe at all!!

Because a £15 rotten old pipe isn't worth anyone's time.

Well I am certainly not going to sell it for £15 for sure Matt. It was a right pig to get off. It is the only one I have found worth saving. Doubt if you can even buy it from Daihatsu. It is a double pipe. It is in pretty good nick too. Only light surface rust and not a pinhole in sight. Hmmmm. Price is steadily rising.

You know how much the 1300 Strangled Octopus costs. Second Mortgage job.
