running rich

Hi, can anyone help .I have a 993 hi jet which is running rich can anyone have any suggestions how to stop this .The van is 1995 and has efi written on the back.thanks

Typical causes for a 993cc hijet running like this are:-

Perished or broken vacuum pipe with links the map sensor under the handbrake to the inlet manifold.

Missing vacuum pipes else where letting it take on too much air under tickover thus it enrichens itself.

Timing set incorrectly.



It is very common they do not run quite right, as they tend to be worked on by idiots, and even worse idiots that don't really care. They also tend to lack maintenance and have been worked on as cheap as possible.
