New owner, new member
Hi Folks,
Found myself the happy owner of a 2000 Hijet Pickup, I was looking around for a small van or pickup when I can across, what I hope to be just the ticket. It's mainly going to be used to shift garden waste and building debris but reading some of the stories on here it could well become an obsession.
I've spent a few nights poking around on here and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge available should/when the inevitable happens.
As an opener, had a trip out last night, can someone tell me wether the dash lights are really dim or am I missing a bulb or two.

Hello, and welcome! Assuming I am not missing any bulbs then, yes, the dash is really dim. Not too bad once it is properly dark outside but anything less than that then you can barely tell they are on.

Looks like I could get along fine on here. I'll remember to take the night vision glasses out with me next trip then.Logi wrote:Hello there, welcome in. What? You mean a Hijet actually has dash lights!!!

Yes the dash lights are usually pretty dim--- but some of the members we have had have been just as dim.
It remains to be seen if you have got a couple of bulbs missing too though. . If you have and you need advice, information or parts give me a ring on 0786 303030 9. I live in Niton.
And if you can tolerate our sense of humor then you will fit in well.

That's okay Ron. I forgive you anyway. Your heart is very much in the right place with your kindness - - although your bum is sat in the wrong place - - in a Suzuki.
Now let's see what comments Logi comes up with. He is bound to have some wonderful little gem.

When did Logi start growing lettuces???
I replaced the panel bulbs in my 1995 van but it didn't make much difference.

I too had issues with the dash lights but no more! When you split the dash there are green caps over the bulbs which on mine had gone cloudy. 1st step was to lose those and then there is a reflector in there that just seemed to have delaminated, so just stuck tinfoil in its place and put it all back together. Its lit white now instead of green but although still not mega bright i can read the instruments now and works quite well.

Well done for that. Shame they don't make Light Emitting Diodes that small. Would be an easy fix for this common problem.
