Porter 1.3 pickup 2007
Okay, so i'd better get a thread going overhere i guess.
I'm fetching my 2007 Piaggio Porter Pickup 1.3 this saterday. I plan to do some changes such as lowering, banded steelies (original 12"), and some slightly lower tyres.
Although it's still young and only has 38000km on the counter, it looks pretty knackered. But it could be worse.
Also, i have found some cuore (L201) alloys to use while the original rims are being widened.
I can't post any pics for a couple of days yet, so i'll have to keep you in suspense.
I'll post the (slow) progress on here.
O, and all comments are welcome ofcourse.

Thanks! Its pretty rusty though. Just found a little hole in the driverside floor... among other places. But thats okay, we'll fix that when i fall through.
O, and the temporary wheels i showed got dumped. I found a set of 13" 5 spoke alloys. Same type of design as shown above, but 1 more spoke...
See if i can get those on before the holiday.
O, and yes, cooling issues...

Let me be a little more clear in my choice of words. The wheels were not chosen by me, as i found a set of 5spoke wheels :-)

:-) I was doubting to keep them. I might want to put them a little lower. Right at the bottom of the cab. But i don't know yet. Might make some steel ones in the correct colour. But it will be a while before i get to that

Re: Porter 1.3 pickup 2007
Finally got started on little red:
Made a rear window rack out of a garden fence:
Lowered the front (really happy with it) about 85mm / 3,3 inches.
I cut 4 coils off each spring, and welded some braces to the dishes, keeping the coil attached to the dishes. Also some braces keeping the top dish attached to the top of the strut. This way, there is no chance the spring will come out of the dishes. I'm guessing the shock is about fully compressed now. But that's okay, it looks good :-)
The rear will also be lowered in the (hopefully) not so distant future.
And made some waterproof storage space under the bed.
O, and i stretched the stick some 10 inches or so.
I'll keep you guys posted on the rest. Any comments are welcome :-)

Re: Porter 1.3 pickup 2007
The workshop for today:

The original and reworked springs

Hooray for a couple of seized bolts. Took about 3 hours for the complete job.

And the new stance. I kind of like it.

:-)

But the front bumper has come up a few cm since the back was lowered. I'm thinking about adding a lip of some sort

The front is now 8,5cm lower and the back about 9,5cm lower.
I made a new mount for the lspv, 9,5cm lower than the original. Not made a photo of this yet.
