Positive battery cable replacement for 1991 Hijet 2 wheel drive 3 cylinder truck

I need to replace the positive battery cable on my truck. Is this a specialised piece or are these cables generic?

The OE stuff will be more than the truck is worth well at least over here anyway. However if it is the junction thaty has failed it can be repaired without having to replace the whole thing. Someone who has done it will tell you how.

Because the truck will not start, the battery is good, so is the alternator, sometimes truck starts, sometimes doesn't. I asked on this site and the battery cable was suggested as the possible issue. I wonder if it might be the solenoid?

It's not the big cable that's the fault usually, there are 2 little cables attached to the positive, about 10 inches from the terminal(on a van anyway) there is a wee connector. It's shit. The wires corrode and cause all the electrics to go out.
Strip these back a foot or so and re-connect good wire to the battery, 95% sure therein lies your problem

Logi Do you have to register to use the host photos? When I click host it I don't get 'allow', it goes to the 3 choices then when I pick the middle one it just goes back to host photo

This is all very funny typical Hijet stuff.

That cable fault, plus then wanting new parts (!), then failing to post photos.

This is exactly what happend to my van. The bloody mechanic didn't put the strap that holds the battery in, back in after swapping the battery for a new one. A few speed bumps later and guess what? The battery had jumped around and cut through both of those little wires. Luckyly a friend came and rescued me. Had a quick poke round with his multimeter and worked out what was wrong.
