Well that went better than I hoped. Hopefully you can help with the 3 fail points.

1.) Brake load valve - repair or replace?
2.) Rear Inertia seatbelt not fitted (can#t remember which side) - have asked Woody but has anyone else got one as backup I can get hold of within 7 days?
3.) OS Rear door cannot be opened from outside - The old snapped handle syndrome. I didn't realise this would be a fail though because of two door cars and/or the boot and Ns working fine. The bearing don't seem too bad I can open easily from inside but what is the best fix? New handle, new door, new kit?

All help appreciated.

May even order some paint now it looks like it's gonna be ok. Very pleased.

My OS rear door is the same. But mine didn't fail. I don't even think they checked them.

The handles are a fail on a MPV but not a van due to passenger access in an emergency same as seatbelts, if you remove the seats a MPV is a van with windows however some places maybe funny if you remove for a retest our MPV passed with a missing door handle and no stalks for seatbelts as there was no seats fitted. For a quick fix on the door handle if you remove the handle and find the pull rod for the door release and add a pull cord to it in theory it should pass that part if you can fix the other bits. It's a bit tester dependant as I have had a tester familiar with Hijets tell me to remove a dodgy seat belt and the seat so he can pass it as it's not there to be tested.

Brake load valve - repair or replace?

Why, is it leaking?

Held together with cable ties apparently. Have asked Woody for this one too :-)

It probably works fine, and when you change it you will ruin the metal brake pipes turning it into a bigger job.

If its not leaking, do not move it!!!

If the arm it cable tied up, then it has been worked on by an idiot, and it should not have passed its last MOT.

Hey, but what do I know.

That's the thing, it's probably been done between the last MOT (Sep '12) and my owenership. Can't see how I can't remove it if it's an MOT fail.
Not sure what you're getting at, is there a way round not ruining the metal brake pipes but changing the arm?

If you bugger the pipes going into it have a look at my Take a Brake thread, cos you'll be taking the tank out.....

I had a fail on my MOT for the door handle not working - it was snapped, so I bit the bullet:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAIHATSU-HIJET-CENTRE-DOOR-HANDLE-RIGHT-HAND-SIDE-OFF-SIDE-FREE-BEARING-/270898529530?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f12cf84fa

10 min job, but fitted the bearing and had a good clean up while the door was off, so it took about an hour in total.

Maaan! Hope not, only just changed it! Giving it to the garage to do anyway. Just want to get the thing done now rather than wait til a weekend that isn't wet!

Thanks Craig, got one coming from woody, booked for retest a week today so hopefully it will be sweet.

The number of garages that have asked my LSPV's - I've lost count...

Then I describe a few hints, and they realise the one they have works fine.

It's just the mounting bracket bent, a stiff arm and fucked spring.
