Lombardini timing issues
Hi I have a hijet which is currently off road. We have a lombardini 4 cylinder Diesel engine but we can not get the injectors timed can anyone help? The engine head gasket was fixed but the mechanic we had was unable to time it for us.

Re: Lombardini timing issues
I warn people about this all the time.
Idiots take them apart like a charging cavalier, with out the brain capacity to realise what they are undoing is difficult to re-setup. If I did this to a customer no way could I charge them for it! No way could I give it them back in bits either!
Call these guys, and ask them if they know someone in your area that could repair an LDW FOCS engine.

In the long run, if you want to stay with Hijets, swap your diesel for a 1.3 petrol.

Re: Lombardini timing issues
All certainly isn't lost. Someone who claims it can't be fixed, is simply incapable of resolving it. They have given up.
If worst comes to the worst bring it to my workshop in Congleton, Cheshire, and I will see what I can do with it.

Re: Lombardini timing issues
how do you mean into the engine? Is it lost now? Can you use one of those telescopic magnet things to retrieve it? Like this:

Yes it is lost inside the engine, was taking the screw out of the injection pumps delivery and it fell into one of the holes, not sure what they are called.
thank you very much for advice on a telescopic magnet i am going to buy one to see if that will help me.

I can't remember where i got mine but it would of been somewhere like poundland etc. I use it all the time. By the sounds of it you need quite a small one, i think its just a case of keeping an eye out and if you pass any hardware stores just pop in and take a look. You could always try browsing ebay too.

Taking the sump off costs nothing really. Bit of sealant which any worthy workshop will have plenty of
