Thermostat top hose blowing off. 1.3
Has this happened to anyone? Twice in a week now the top hose on the thermostat flange has blown off when hot causing the van to overheat. Temp guage is fine then all of a sudden it raises and I can smell coolant. Look under the seat and hey presto hose is off and coolant is everywhere.

lets hope its crap clips although they seem pretty good. Van runs spot on then it just randomly happens.

give the system a good clean out while your at it..
2 denture tablets work a treat, dissolve em in a bit of water 1st.
new hose clamps + check if there is still a wee lip on the housing neck bit.
