Hi your not on your own mine are as dim as anything I havent had a chance to look yet but as the glow is coloured there are likely to be coloured caps over the bulbs if there is then higher rated bulds will probably melt them or they will cook and fall apart my ford had them and one night they fell to bits and wrecked the speedo so since I always take the covers out and will do on the van once its running properly you just have to have white light.

They have 3 or 4 bulbs in the back that have little green rubber caps on. You'll probably find atleast one has gone!.

yup mine too. in fact this morning i couldent tell if my lights were on (that time of day-duskish) until i spotted the lights on the heater controls!

oooooh now heres where i have fun...
i am one for LEDs...... they are loads brighter than any bulb and last 1,000 times longer.
given half the chance id change all the dash bulbs for LEDs.
I get most of my LED stuff from the guy below.

I have been tempted to LED a dash but never got round to it as the angle the light comes out is limited and they would have to bne mounted at a angle to get the best out of them not impossible but I know a lot of people do convert to them.

I have a similar problem to, infact thats why I think I didn't notice Rivet nearly over heating the other night. I can't be bothered at this point to disassemble the dash to see if one or bulbs have failed and have solved the problem by buying two boy racer led pods from Halfords during a sale for the princely sum of £1!!!! They have a self adhesive pad which I have used to mount the leds on the dash facing into the speedo area, as the lenses are against the plastic they don't reflect back when lit, but they do illuminate the areas that where once dimpsy Smile Its okay as long as you don't mind wires trailing over to the ciggy lighter out put!

In the long term I'll probably rip out the dash and replace the bulbs, but this bodge works for now..........................
