1998 Hijet MPV 1.3 Petrol for sale - breaking or fixer-upper

The insurance and tax on my Hijet MPV has run out and as it's currently not working I have SORN'd it. So...if anybody out there has a trailer and wants to take him away and give him a new home that would be great. I really don't want to scrap him!

The electricals are fair for their age but has had a DIY enthusiast working on them in the past, so I'm fairly sure that's the problem (that's what the last 3 or 4 problems were). So if there's someone out there who has the time and knowhow, it could probably be kept running.

Otherwise, it's probably worth dismantling for spares. I would prefer it if someone could take the whole thing rather than selling it piece by piece, but I could be flexible.

Off the top of my head, things which people might want include:
- 5x tyres
- 2x sliding doors which have windows in them
- 6x seats (including flip up bench seat)

If you want to know about any 'under-the-hood' stuff then let me know what you're interested in and I'll check their condition and get back to you.

I'll put up a photo as soon as I figure out how.

Yes, it is in Rugby.

I'm planning on having a quick look over it this weekend to see if I can get it working again - in which case I would probably want around £500 for it.

If I can't get it going, anyone want to make me an offer? It probably won't take too much time and effort to fix it if you know about Hijets. It also has about half a tank of petrol in it.

I still haven't figured out how to post a photo in the forum, but my profile picture is the relevant van so that should give you an idea.

Ok - so I had a rummage around in the van and didn't manage to get it running.

Using a fluke test meter, measuring the voltage across the cam position sensor didn’t give rise to any measurement of frequency whilst cranking the starter motor. I therefore assume there to be a fault with the wiring or cam sensor.

Just to remind you - it isn't currently working and it's SORN'd, so it would need collecting on a trailer. I'm based in Rugby. Also it has about half a tank of petrol in it, which is worth a few quid

So would anybody be willing to give me £250 for it?
