Outside storage below windscreen? (spare wheel position)

A friend had a spare wheel mounted on the front of his hijet below the windscreen, which gives me an idea for extra storage space. My hijet has a mounted Romahome camper allowing very limited storage. I was wondering if some kind of box could be mounted on the front, not to hold a spare wheel but maybe a folded bike or other storage. Does anyone have any ideas or know if this is possible? Thanks. Can't fail to think blocking the airflow to the rad on a van that's renowned for overheating issues isn't the best idea?
