CD/Stereo location

Where do you all mount your stereos? Mine's in my glove box, but I was thinking of dremelling out the centre console and mounting it there so I can use the glove box for......errr.....gloves?

Mine was in front of the gear stick center of the console, will dig out a photo.

How do you fit those radio consoles, or are they part of the dash. Anything need to be removed before installing or is there special fixing points.

They were extra cost options from Daihatsu so fitted by them.

As far as I remember they were about £200 plus another £200 for the radio.

Presumably they could still be ordered from a dealer but they probably wouldn't give you any instructions either.

They don't reach the dash panelling so no connection there.

They would appear to screw to two floor mounted brackets; you can just see the screw covers in the picture ahead of the seat. The nearest one might be missing and looks grey, the next one is black and just a bit further on.

I have a spare one of those centre thingie.

On the other hand, I wonder if you can fit one of these in the dash in the correct place as they are not the full depth...
