Search for the thread 'Front seat options in a camper conversion' and you may get some clues.

Whatever you do, don't now ask what size alloys a Hijet takes!

Some Devon conversions had a swivel passenger seat but its tight, modifying a seat with a swivel plate is not cheap, bet bet is swap seats to Smart car seats and put a small seat behind passenger seat ( see Renervation of Skylark thread) as passenger Smart seat does fold forward flat and makes enough room to sit behind it then...or ....do a search on here for other options.

Wouldn't removing 3 of the 4 bolts do the job? Very Happy

just an idea i had..
couldnt you drill 4 xtra holes in the seatplate
so that you can put the seat facing to the front when driving
and just switch it around when youre camping or something
its only 4 bolts...

that would be cheapest and easiest way in my opinion.
i dont think theres room for a swivelplate under the seat..
you will go up in driving position and this will give you other problems like looking at the stoplights and will give you a sore neck

It is possible to have a swivel seat...just. I have actually seen one and seen it rotate. Worked well but as I said its tight, not much room at all. Did think about it myself but cost outweighed benefits and now changes to Smart seats anyway so no chance now.
