Whining noise Empty Whining noise

Post by andy pyke Thu Jun 18, 2015 10:54 am

Hi everyone, am wondering if anyone can suggest some likely causes of a whining noise coming from the front right hand wheel side even when the wife isn't on board?

Would I be right in thinking its wheel bearings? Its not there all the time but on a motorway run for example it gets quite loud but can be disrupted by turning the wheel slightly off centre; not a great way to be weaving up the M2!

Any suggestions gratefully received thank you!

A lack of grease will cause the whining so probably exhausted of it. I would at least take the hub apart for a closer look and expect to replace the bearing. Re packing it with new grease after a clean up may get you by for while, I would still replace though as the damage has already happened.

Sounds plausible, time for the wobble test. Doesn't she obscure your vision when she's hanging on the offside of the van? Very Happy

My MPV makes the same whining noise even when it is standing still.

The Swiftkey App. on my Phone and this Website just don't mix. I have to keep going back to correct everything I type in. Words double up, the Cursed Cursor goes all over the place.. Its a nightmare. Takes 3 times as long to write a post. But it's fine everywhere else.

Does anyone else use Swiftkey on their Phone and if so do you have any problems with it??

I don't even know what a swiftkey is; joyful bliss Smile

On an altogether different note I'm struggling to track down a fuel filter for mine for some reason Any suggestions?

Also looking for the inner bush from the OSF track control arm but am being offered whole assemblies at £130!

Thanks......Andy

She largely refuses to get into the van, let alone hang off the offside!

I just use universal filters and some fuel pipe.

Normally when you try to undo the fittings to the fuel filter on a Hijet, the metal pipework crumbles to nothing in your hand.

At this point I do away with all that crap and but a new length of flexi fuel hose in its place.

All ordered and made a deal with my mechanic. He's going to do sort all the little jobs out on my van and I'm going to build him a website in return.

Swiftkey is an Android predictive word system that is superb normally for writing text messages very quickly. Look on Google Playstore . Just don't use it on this site though.

It's for Android phones Logi although they are developing it for Apple iPhone systems too.
It is a much more comprehensive keypad with 4way control of the cursor and a full
line of numerals.
It also gives you a choice
of three predicted words you may want to use in the sentence and the more you use it
the more it learns about your style of word usage and gives more accurate prediction.
Very useful for rapid texting or Emailing.

Huge choice of Keypad styles and colour themes too.

If you have a part number for it I may be able to get you one and if I can it will be significantly cheaper than the UK price
