Faded Bumper restoration

I had just done this to mine with great results. The bumpers were really light gray and faded so I took a heat gun to them and they come up like new seriously it's like witch craft or something haha. I know it's not a new idea and most of you probably already know about it but look it up on youtube if not

Yep, works well but when it fades again it looks terrible as you can see the strokes you made with the heat gun. I think keeping them coated with some kind of silicon spray will protect them a bit

i use this

its basicly some sort of grease
stays on for a long time but in the summer you will have to do it more because of the sun.
i use the same can now for about 2,5 years so 1 can will last pretty long

Ah cool, yeah I heard smooth peanut butter works really well too. The heat gun method is not going to win any shows but it definitely smarten it up. Time will tell if it goes all streaky after a while but it can be redone. Just make sure it's perfectly clean and free from oil streaks or anything before you start :-)

Yeah definitely worth doing, just keep on top of the wax or silicon to keep them that way

While the heat-gun method will work OK'ish the first time, the problem is it draws the oils in the plastic to the surface.....repeated use of this method will eventually make the plastic brittle.
