Stiff throttle
Hello.
Been running up a hi-jet, and noticed the the accelerator is a case of all or nothing.
There is some slight movement, but then it goes quite stiff.
So just wondering, does anyone else suffer this problem, or do i just need to pull out the cable and get it oiled up.
(First thoughts is oil the cable, but thought there is no harm in seeing if its a common issue)

Re: Stiff throttle
Plenty of lube and plenty of patience, and see if its still stiff at the end. Trying to get the lube in the tiny orifice is the challenge.
Re: Stiff throttle
I've lubed up cables on bikes before. I've found trick for the bikes is, start at higher end. Rap some tap round it to make a funnel. Then just keep putting a lubricent of your choise in.
Will any mechanisms need doing?

Re: Stiff throttle
Had a friend round cupple of weeks back, and in exchange for teaching him to ride a bike i got a hand with losing off the throttle. Under the cable at the engine end, rapped some tape round to make a funnel, then got him to pump throttle while i spayed some WD40 followed by a bit of 10 weight oil. Could not quite find where to greese on the peddle so just slapped a load of grease in, Put it all back together. much better. Still not as free as the throttle on the fiesta we own, but i'll put that down to the way its all set up.
