1.3 (petrol) petrol light Empty 1.3 (petrol) petrol light

Does anyone who owns a 1.3 petrol hijet able to confirm when their petrol light comes on. Mine seems to come on at the quarter mark but I ain't sure if this is correct or not. When I fill up my hijet it seems to gobble through the first quarter of the tank. I put £20 of petrol in on Saturday and have done approximately 120 miles and I'm nearly at the last quarter.

Thats ~33mpg if you hadnt worked it out.

Not too bad a figure I wouldnt think.

My gauge works the opposite Razz

When full, it takes a while to get to 3/4 mark.
But then it shoots down quite quickly....

Not sure how big the fuel tank is on the 1.3, but mine is 7 gallons.

If its the same, you have a range of ~230miles

I would just rely on the trip more than the fuel gauge (perhaps that motorcycle paranoia showing itself Razz)

I was more a scooter gal lmao. Gilera runner vxr 200 (no laughing).

I honestly thought these vans did roughly 37 - 40 mpg.

Very Happy
It depends greatly on how you drive and what you have in the back Razz

My right foot is made of lead so in my 1.0L I normally get about 30mpg...

But my style of driving is foot to the floor to get up to speed Razz

Have you looked at your air filter?
Is it nice and clean? If not get a new one...

When an air filter gets worn out and dirty, it wont allow as much air though causing the engine to lose power, and use more fuel...

Petrol light comes on when I brake or go downhill Smile It's just sloshing to the wrong end of the tank is all...

Do the 1.0L have a light?

I havent noticed one Razz

The worst problem for mine still, is going down hill with a tank over 3/4 full.
A bit of fuel dribbles past the filler cap Razz

no the 1lt doesn't have a light but the 1.3 clocks fit and I had a sensor and when I get time I will try to work out if it can be retro fitted.

My fuel gauge isnt the most accurate anyway Razz

I still just look at the mileage and top the tank up every 100~150 miles Razz
