Battery Blues
Reading the topics of others, batteries seem a bit of a 'bone of contention' the costs are ridiculous! I called the factors, gave the reg and needed a stiff drink when I got the price..........................................over £100!
Then, thanks to the wonderful World of eBay, I found this alternative for £35 delivered.
Daihatsu Hijet 1.3i 16V 1998-1999 Battery 3 year Guarantee
Item price£35.00

Item number281208272669
Delivery serviceRoyal Mail 1st Class
My battery was clearly off something else, probably a general small vehicle, it charged OK, and would read 12.4v on the meter, and charge at 14v which was about right. Then after leaving for an hour, would still show 12.4v, but turn the engine over just half a turn before grinding to a halt and show just 7v at the battery, before recovering back to 12 ish! I dont expect my tarter is pulling big current as it starts easily on the booster pack. Placed my order with crossed fingers!
