993 Efi mpv dead electricaly speaking
Drove back from work the other night parked up every thing fine. Next morning everything dead.I thought i must have left the lights on but i didnt. The battery was still fully charged, earth connection good.No lights come on on the dash at all,no exterior and no interior light, nothing. That night was a very wet and very windy one.[in fact it was a dark and stormy night] Any ideas?

I don't know if the 993cc is the same but on the 1.3 there is a joint in the positive side cable out of the battery box so might be worth following it to the engine and any where else you can find a point to check you have a curcuit also worth a check is the ignition switch again I don't know if this applies as never checked but a lot of car ignition switches are a barrel lock for the key and a rotary switch attached to the back it this has come loose then the key may not be turning it.

If there are 2 wires coming from the battery + terminal i'm betting one has broken. Mines was under the van at the connector.

Is this going to make another notch in the bed post of the dodgy power connector on the battery live terminal.
I bet it is!
Check it all, both sides of that joiner connector, the banjo... i'm sure there will be a broken wire in there somewhere.
If that is all fine and dandy get back to us, I'll give your some further diagnostic pointers.

Notch it up! Finally got around to sorting it. There are two wires coming from the + terminal alongside the large starter cable. One of them was broken about 40cm from the terminal.I am careering around the Devon lanes again. Thanks very much for all the help.

That is fantastic news. Good to know there's another happy hijet and owner still rolling.
