Shoulda Took The Hijet..
Today i found why having a Hijet is handy, went to collect one of these today.
Thank f*** it wasn't raining, cos i wasn't in the Hijet. I was in the Merc.
Guess what?
A 197cm paddle doesn't fit in the Merc.
It was a bit chilly with the roof down

Dunno what id have done if it was raining, its that kinda thing that made me get another. I like the Merc but its limited practicality wise. The Jet makes up for it. Guess ive gotten too used to chucking things in the van. You forget how limiting a sportscar is. Even though the house is nearly done id miss having a wee van

I feel the same, they are just so damn handy!
Speaking of tarts cars, my dads just bought a nice little MR2 Mk3 soft top
Ahhh Mid life crisis syndrome

Get yer code reader on it, check the lambda sensors, and keep an eye on the oil level esp if pre facelift. They suck little bits of the pre cats in and wreck the bores.

Re: Shoulda Took The Hijet..
It's already had the engine light come on due to the passenger side pre cat lambda sensor!!!
Re: Shoulda Took The Hijet..
I liked mine but felt that there were too many inherant problems with them, lambda sensors(3 of the bloody things!) handling on crap tyres, oil burning, precats, shitty handbrake(got 2 new cables if yer interested )
I look at Toyota in a whole different light now

Re: Shoulda Took The Hijet..
I tried so hard to get him to buy a celica vvtli 190 instead.
It's a beautiful car and all, not the quickest of things mind you, and its totally bloody useless except for carrying two people as long as they have short legs.
I love Toyota's and Honda's (and of course the high quality premium Daihatsu creations!), but we'll see what I think of the MR2 in 12 months time!!
Sounds like you know the regular pitfalls with them! From looking across a forum or two they seem a little temperamental.
