CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT Empty CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT

I am recounting this so people know.
I fitted a new clutch on Wednesday.  I used a Japanpart clutch.  All went well, but the Thrust Bearing looked slightly different.
When I adjusted the cable I was in a rush and the clutch pedal was high.  When I pressed the pedal to the floor I could hear a metalic "pinging" -  Oh f***!  I thought thinking I would have to strip down again.
Then I did some thinking - the thrust bearing was pushing the pressure plate fingers too far in so they pinged on the clutch plate - solution slacken the cable by about quarter of a turn.

At the same time I changed both gearbox and back axle oil. The Diff Filler was a battle to open - so was the drain plug - however although the gearbox oil was good, the back axle oil was on its last legs with obvious water contamination, so I am glad I did it or maybe I would have been saying bye-bye to the back axle.
