Looking for a Hijet 1.3 VAN propshaft

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a propshaft for my Hijet 1.3 VAN. Does anyone has a good propshaft laying around and is willing to sell it?
Mine is so far gone that it's not safe to drive it anymore...

I am heading over to my old Workshop tomorrow. I will will have a hunt round for one for you and get back to you tomorrow evening. Glad you mentioned VAN as Pickup one is around 20mm different in length.

Thanks you in advance for checking. For now I'm OK with a temporary fix. I had a propshaft laying around form an 1.0 VAN. And we made it fit with the help of the bad one. I want to change it nevertheless. But at least we can continue driving it.
You were almost there with the name.. add a little more Dutch to it and you would have guessed it.

Hi Patrick. Sorry for the late reply. I did go to the garage before Christmas, but couldn't find a 1300 van propshaft. 993, Diesel and Pickup ones on the truck but no Van ones. Murphy's law isn't it? Very sorry.

Wouldn't have thought about cutting down a 993cc Propshaft. Necessity is the Mother of Invention. Well done.

Pvdb - Did you know there was a propshaft recall on these vans? It's probably worth checking if your was ever done.

Was the Propshaft Recall worldwide or just something that was pertinent to the UK?? If it was just the UK then that would be somewhat one sided.
Hopefully Holland is included in the Recall.

Just wondering, how long do the 'recalls' last for .....

Is it for a certain time after the 'recall' was announced.....

Is it for the lifetime of the van?

I got mine replaced a few years ago? Don't know how it works without any Daihatsu dealers now tho?

i contacted pvdb and gave him a headsup about your tip about the recall.
would be a shame if he spends money on it when he could get it replaced without cost.

although there are no official dealers anymore
you can still contact some of those dealers regarding parts etc
i contacted a guy i know who works at one of those exdealers about the recall.
he is doing an inquiry about it.

it could be that daihatsu still pays them for the recall
we are waiting for more info now

There are a couple of Propshafts for sale on Ebay UK at the moment not sure if they will post outside the UK though but you could ask them
