Hi from Czech!
My name is Ivo and my son Bert is in the pictures. I like small things and my business is the sale, service, tuning and restoration of Honda Monkey. I have a speed record for Bonneville Salf Flats - the world's fastest Monkey 94,479 MPH. Yeah, and I also started nine times on a Dakar rally motorcycle. I also build a special electric tricycle RID-E for paraplegics. They drive fast, 50 km / h and go quite far - 80 kilometers per charge. Daihatsu Hijet was a complete wreck, I think we've done it with our son and have a beautiful minicamper. We were already in Slovenia (1,700 km) and we are planning to travel further, perhaps to Morocco. Maybe we'll meet somewhere!

Hello Ivo. Welcome to the slower world of Hi-Jets, apart from one's with Bike engines in. You have certainly done some interesting things in your life, especially visiting the location of one of the best films ever made - about the life of Burt Monro in "The World's Fastest Indian". What an amazing man.
Have you ever heard Tommy Ivo? I was just 14 when Sydney Allard organised the first ever Drag festival in 1964 with 10 American Top Names in Drag racing from America. Tommy Ivo was one of the American Team. There were 5 rounds held in Britain, two at Blackbushe Airport in Surrey. I cycled there about 15 miles for both dates. It was amazing. Britain had never seen anything like it before. Over 50 British machines took part and one of most amusing ones I saw was a 3 wheeler Meshersmitt bubble car with a 650 Triumph Bonneville engine in the back.
Tommy Ivo in 1961 built a 4 wheel drive x 4 Buick V8 engines developing over 2000 bhp. It was called "Tommy Ivo's Showboat".
If you think that is mad, then Barry Jameson went even more ludicrous. He built a car with 4 27,000cc Rolls Royce Merlin Spitfire engines giving a total displacement of 112 THOUSAND cubic centimetres.
Yet another Brit, John Dodds, an Automatic Transmission specialist builder, from Epsom in Surrey built a car with a spaced frame chassis and a hand built Fibreglass body with a 27,000cc Merlin engine and a special two speed Auto Box with a Rolls Royce Grille on the front. He ran into a huge legal battle with them for putting it on his car. It was capable of doing over 200mph which in the late 60's was unheard of. He took it to the Continent to see just how fast it would go and I believe well topped the 200mph. But unfortunately whilst over there it caught fire and was totally destroyed.
So have you got any plans to put anything nice and powerful in your Hi-Jet?
I'm sure that we all look forward to your continued Posts.

Re: Hi from Czech!
Thank you, I like stories. And dreams. My dreams come alive, mostly about motorcycles and races. So I started at Dakar on the biggest motorcycle - Triumph Tiger in 1998, also the smallest, with a pitbike in 2009. I started as an amateur with the old Suzuki DR, but I got to the Gauloises KTM team. And I have a wonderful family, a big house, small Hijet and a lot of Monkey motorcycles ... Something about me is on Facebook (Ivo Kastan, IKbike.cz...)
