Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
Anyone got any or know where there are some Bull bars for sale? As the title says I know I`d probably be easier looking for Hens teeth although a brand new set did come up on ebay last year, that's bull bars not hens teeth!

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
I have a bull-bar that came from a 1.0 van. Meant to take some pics of it last time I moved it but didn't. Think there's a bit of rust but not too bad. Will get some pics if you're interested.

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
I had a lovely looking Bull Bar off of the Bedford Bambi Caravan I bought for £50. It had been sat in the in corner of a chaps field that was basically his huge allotment that he used for growing vegetables.
He just used it for a tea room or to shelter from the rain. I have put pictures up on here of it.
I did have a good look at the possibility of modifying it to fit my Hi-Jet but it was a job for a good engineering shop to make up thick mounting plates to fit it to the chassis.
I didn't have those facilities other than a good Mig Welder. Would have looked great on the Hi-Jet though.

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
looks good, I know they had clamp brackets to the tubular bumper bar but how else did it fit to the hijet?

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
I believe you're right about the clamps - I don't have them but not difficult to replicate though. I think the two lower mounts are for spotlamps - the lugs on the verticals seem to line up with, I think, radiator bolt holes - but you would need some long bolts or spacers. (It wasn't actually mounted on the van when I got it, just left in the back).
So as there seem to be only 2 available in Europe, what do you guys think it's worth?

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
Never saw an official Hijet bull bar. Interesting! I have one laying around somewhere waiting to be screwed on, but I think that one is a custom job.
Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
If you look on HighlyJetted documents store there is an accesories leaflet pdf, its listed on there.

Thats the one I agreed to buy and was given back word after someone else phoned and agreed to buy tow bar as well, would have bought tow bar as well if I had been given chance just for bull bar.

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
Quite a few months later. Does anybody still have any bull bars kicking about? I'm a 1.0. Could do with the up grade. (Fingers crossed)...

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
Just be patient and something will pop up. There was an advert on ebay for a few vans being sold together and one had a bull bar on it, if its still on you could ask if they would sell separate. Took me a while to get hold of one.

I have been looking around for a few months now. I think I'll hand those plans provided above over to a welder friend and get some custom forged

Brand new set of bull bars on fleabay, says for diesel but don’t know what difference that is from petrol, will fit 993 rather than 1.3

Hmmm, now who do we know up in that part of the world? Can't see where is says 'diesel', not that it would make any difference as long as it's the earlier shape.

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
If you look on the Daihatsu label on one of the photos it’s in typewriter print.
It’s not apparently our kilted friend from the north.

Re: Bull Bars (or hens teeth)
No it's not Logi. I checked with him months ago when the Rear Light Guards first came up for sale.
And in your own words " Should have gone to Specsavers". It says it on the Daihatsu Identification label. But to be fair, it isn't that clear.
If it had been a 1300 I would have have made an extravagant offer on it.
