It's me again....3rd timer!
I appear to have just won another Hijet on ebay.....have been without one for just under a year while I sold my soul to a VW LT camper. I've now gotten rid of that humungous beast but never managed to get Hijets out of my blood.
Got to arrange to pick it up this week so will post details once I get it home.
The wife is absolutely going to kill me. I had to hide the last one for 10 days over Christmas a couple of years ago.....ho hum

Good to be back!
So, I've driven it home. It's the first 1.3 I've had and noticeably quicker/smoother than the 1.0l versions I've had before.
Bodywork is a bit rough, not so much rusty as dings and dents all over the place.
Interior is really good...no hole in the carpet under the throttle!! The rear wiper even works...how strange!
It is not without problems of course, the most pressing of which is a leaking fuel tank grrrrr
It's a 2002 bi-fuel version, so I guess I can run it on LPG until I can sort out the fuel tank? Looking at it, it's been bodged up with a black sealant and even a piece of hose to replace a section of the filler pipe. The leaks appears to be around the area where the filler pipe meets the tank. I've read the instructions on using that tank-liner process; I suppose I could try that if the tank is easy to take off. Looks like a lot of aggro though.
Anyway, good to be back in a van where you can touch both sides at once, the panels flex with each loving caress and you're sitting on a potential hot water enema ...

Hmmmm It looks like its showing OK now?
Now parked on the road as its dripping petrol. Tempted to empty the tank and just use the LPG.
Also chopped my Volvo V70 in and bought an old A4 convertible; most uncomfortable car I've driven in a long time. You have to press the accelerator with the side of your foot or move the chair back and lean forward to reach the steering wheel.
