Wet passenger footwell
Don't know if this is the correct part of the forum for this question, but my Piaggio Porter has developed a wet carpet in the passenger footwell when it rains, the water is coming from the windscreen seal at the bottom corner (?) or somewhere close to that. Anyone had similar and know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance

Check the headlight access panel, and the door seal. Sikaflex cures most leaks

Re: Wet passenger footwell
I've got the same problem on the drivers site wich actually is your passengers site. I'm using a tray to gather the water. 400ml is no exeption after a rainy day's.
Because there is a lot of rust under the seal and I don't have the possibility to fix this I think Sikaflex is the best sollution as Logi already mentioned. A nice job for the comming spring.

Re: Wet passenger footwell
There really are only a very few places the water can enter from.
Door seal, Headlight cover, Windscreen seal, sunroof, wiper arm bushes, washer jet nozzle.

Re: Wet passenger footwell
I have seen the water running down the headlight access panel when it was raining the other day, I would have to kneel down outside and stick my head under the glove box in order to see where it was coming from - I didn't fancy getting wet knees so I didn't do it!! perhaps I should get togged up in my waterproofs next rainy day (wont be long!) and try to find out more.
I am glad to hear of others with the same problem, I thought it might be common, I still think the windscreen seal to be my problem, especially the corner where the seal seems to be a bit less tight than the rest. Water leaks are a pain to solve, as my mate said 'very thin stuff water, it gets anywhere . . . .and it can go upbank!!'

Hmm I have this problem too. Need to investigate. If from the sunroof, wouldn't it be more obvious up there somewhere? I have a puddle after rain in passenger foot well. Looks like from around the headlight somehow. Hope it's not windscreen seal!

Get your footman to look inside for leaks while you douse the van with a hose pipe

Re: Wet passenger footwell
I started this thread, but I haven't found the leak. It enters the vehicle around the bend in the windscreen at the bottom. I've tried the hosepipe test, along with silicone sealant, but can't work out where it comes from, my van does not have a sunroof so that can't be the culprit in my case. I'm ashamed to say I have cheated, but have a dry foot well. My solution was basically a funnel behind the glove compartment, with a pipe that leads through a hole I bored in the headlight access panel, diverting the water back outside. VERY crude but effective. Having said that I appear to have dislodged the funnel whilst replacing the headlight bulb, so I require some maintenance in that area soon. Hope that helps.

Might be worth taping some plastic over the corner you think it's coming in - would proove if it's the screen seal.

Re: Wet passenger footwell
Worked out that its water running along the headlight cabling and dripping from a kink in the cable
