Insurance!!!!
Hi there,
Well I am happy with the van and itching to drive it, but no one will insure me!!!
Soon as I mention 660cc or Sambar.....................
Anyone know anyone who might insure me?
When I bought the van, I was under the impression and it was said that it was cheap to insure.
Wondering now, if I have made a big mistake!!!!

Hi there,
It is an import, the excuse I am being given is that if the engine blows up, it will be expensive or impossible to replace!!!
Adrian Flux have come up with a quote of £365.........
I don't know if that is expensive??????
I have a clean licence (for about 15 yrs) I also have about the same in no claims.
I know it is a second policy, so they might treat it as zero no claims.
In that case I will probably be happy at that price!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just seriously itching to drive it and also I need to get rid of some rubbish at the tip!
Thanks for you help!

Re: Insurance!!!!
I would say that is reasonable, mine is more.
Depends on where you live- the std postcode lottery applies.
Mine was declared Jap import, with Alloy wheels, and may be more due to the twin glass sunroofs. Had to send copy of the Imobiliser certificate and photo's as well.

Insured and out on the road!
Hi there,
After many phone calls and being put on hold, I am at last insured!!!
Big smile on my face and on the people passing by.
Just getting used to being asked questions every time I stop!
Love it and it has bags of character.
Just need to get the cosmetics done!!
Thanks for your advice.

Re: Insurance!!!!
The hijet mpv is pricey to insure because of the number of passenger seats apparently.
Those buses have got to be the coolest things to ride around in, I can imagine the heads turning everywhere. Better than a show off audi or bmw anyday.
Glad your sorted, happy motoring.

Re: Insurance!!!!
i am paying quite a bit in insurance, mainly due to me being a "new driver". i have my Hijet MPV insured by Elephant.com. next year it will be half what i pay now... with 1 NCB.

Re: Insurance!!!!
Same here, i am caught in this new driver clause!
I also think that if it was the 1000cc or 1300cc, then it would of been cheaper as it seems to be the engine (660cc) which has created the problem.
They have also said repair and parts etc!!!!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........
Ah well, it is done now!!!

"when did you pass your driving test?"
LP> last December......
"eh.. hang on.. how can you have a full licence for 7 years and only pass your test last year?"
LP> its a full licence, with motorcycles only on it hun......
