Why has Woody become a 'Guest' on here......has he left ....why .

He says he's fed up with all the old farts on here and has gone off to find younger people to play with.

Yes, spoken to him and he's taking a sabatical from forum life, after that who knows.

Yeah....'who knows'....strange lot those Offshore Islanders, who knows what they get-up to .

I got the email of his acc closure yesterday morning & text him to check if he was ok.

Now heres the part some aren't going to like.
He's fed up with thankless members who he does research for & dont bother to say thank-you for it.
Members that dont contribute esp new ones i call one hit wonders.
coupled with his family needing him at this time brought him to the decision.

With that in mind, over xmas i will be looking at the forum settings & tightening down some areas away from non-new members, looking at if i can set up that once you have 5-10 posts you get access to the parts section etc. And clearing out all inactive members for over 6-12 months (just means you have to re-register)

For those of you who has Woodys number/s, do text him to thank him (which i shouldnt have to ask tbh) as between Woody & Highly jetted who also left a while ago. THEY are who kept your vans on the road with parts! two of the fourums best & trusted breakers are gone.

There are a lot of people in the world that do so much & never get thanked. In the end they stop doing things & people wonder why when its too late.

That is one one hell of a shame,allthough I do understand the reasoning behind his decision,the imput to the forum has been invaluble to hj owners and his wit and banter entertaining, the willingness to help other hj owners who he never met was second to none,thanks Woody you WILL be missed

Geordie, Admin, Elfin & Waz, I have passed on your thanks and good wishes in an email reply to Woody. He is very appreciative of the support from us.
Admin - has HJ completely gone? I though from his recent posts that he would pop in from time to time even though his interest in Hijets seems to have waned of late. The majority of us are very appreciative of this forum, and the relaxed manner in which it is managed, which is usually not abused.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to hj,woody and all the hijet crew have a happy family time. I'd like to think that it is just Some people may not have the best awareness of gratitude and not ignorance but I hope that everybody's knowledge will continue on the hijet scene. I have one and if you are honest they are a bit crap but they have bags of character and ability so keep on rolling everyone.

HJ just pops in now n then, but From what Woody said. he sold off all his parts.

PS Thank You to all who did text/call/email/smoke signal Woody His faith is restored.... Just need to get him re-registered & sorted.

BUT.. i am still going to have a look at settings etc
every 6 months or so i delete loads of inactive accounts & 1 hit wonders. In the face of Facebook, a lot of forums are dying a death. Not what I want to happen to this place.
