I dont really like it to be honest...

Its not been thought out in my opinion...

The engine isnt suited to the Hijet, due to the angle it sits at...
The mondeo engine sits vertically, where as the hijet engine is canted...

I would have prefered the one I saw with a 3.0L Ford Essex V6 in it...
It made no difference to the cab at all...

Where as I can foresee problems with seats in that project....

Mind you, wouldnt a boxer engine, out of something like a Subaru be a good candidate for the Hijet?
Would be interesting I reckon Razz

Might have to keep the hijet, and mod it Razz

with out seeing it proper and I don't know how the pick up seats go in either it does look like it may be a bit iffy and I was thinking a boxer might be good but i think it would have a beetle effect in that it would be quicker to change the lump rather than change the plugs it's a bit awkward on the back cylinder at the plug to chassis rail.

I was looking simply at how the engine protrudes into the cab...

To be honest, I think it looks an unplanned project if you understand my meaning...

now if it was a Bike lump......... i have seen a GSXR in a sooty van before... but being realistic. id go for a BMW or Gold wing lump.... or similar as they would be man enough for the job, already have the shaft drive..... or am i thinking too much like a Trike builder?!

Not really Leopard Smile

Thats called clever thinking Razz

Unlike the person who started the project in the first post Razz

I reckon a bike engine would be fine with chain and sprocket, but it would be probably best to put the engine next to the rear axle.
Then its just a chain and sprocket to the input on the diff...

Plus you could compensate for the diffs gearing easily by changing sprockets Razz

Just don't drive into any tight spaces. (No reverse gear). Laughing

This is my favourite.

I know it's not a Hijet, but it's still very cool. Cool

But then I would say that, as it's a Kawasaki & I'm biased. Laughing

Seen that before Very Happy

As for reverse, its not a problem:

And then you get the same number of reverse gears as forward ones Razz

So you could have 6 reverse gears Razz

Not sure I would want to try going fast in reverse Razz

I found that a few years ago when I was thinking about building a custom kit car...

Main thing that put me off was the SVA test...
