bleeding up a MPV

with a LSPV.....
now that we got the fecked up pipes off, new one in tomorrow; so next stage is re-fill the system.

i have:
a DIY syringe bleed kit.....
lots of fluid
a handy mate to pump brake pedals...
& a choice vocabulary of swear works in various languages!

I find is one of the most used things when i set to work on my bikes. The other one i've seen (but not tryed my-self) is a cap to throw across the workshop when stuff goes Really wrong!

The only time i ever threw samat was a ex-house mates tool box out of my garage coz i'd tripped over it again. i was at full swing, juuust about to let go as the door came in to view..... so did my bikes Double bubble screen which was fitted to my bike which i knew the flying toolbox would hit if i let go!
i seldom get angry while working on my bike or van, i know its fruitless doing so & means i probably do not have the correct tool for the job! Knowing when to stop is also key.

everythings off now, even re-used a buggered banjo end to plug the master cylinder from draining completely!

Ok, what you need to do is bleed it out stage by stage.

First bleed both the front brakes.
Then undo the top feed pipe for the lspv and bleed from there for a good few pumps.
Then do the same for the bottom lspv feed pipe.

Now lock the lspv in to the "loaded" position - you will have to unbolt the spring arm from the axle and strap up the arm with some cable ties or something.

Then bleed from the nipple on the LSPV itself.
Then bleed from the flexy pipe to the axle for a pump.
Now bleed from the drivers side rear slave cylinder, via the union which goes to the other wheel.
Then do the one on the passenger size.

Then go back and bleed the LSPV feed lines again, and lastly the nipple on the LSPV.


Other people waste ages failing to bleed them if they have been messing with the LSPV and rear axle pipes.

If you haven't lost the bleed already on the rear lines which feed the LSPV you don't have the big issue.

But you always need to lock the LSPV into the "loaded" position otherwise you can't pump fluid through to the rear brakes.

Now the fun bit... fighting over whos tools are whos later as we both got our own sets out! lol..

Yup all tools re-homed to the correct tool boxes.
i think i have bedded in the brakes now.. lol.. erm a few harsh braking needed last few days.

Yeah, I usually get into trouble trying to rehome my tool in a different box....
