Did you sell it sold as seen?

If you did, then you dont have to refund the money...

Besides, if the mechanic screwed up the bleeding process, and had a big airlock, the head gasket might have blown :S

Mind you, the amount of people who are willing to start a water cooled engine with no water in the system for a few seconds to see if it works :S
Bad idea really...
Seen many engines pop the gaskets after that (especially diesels)...

If you do have to refund the money, get them to ship the engine back to you...

at least you can reclaim some of the money by selling parts off it...

maybe its my experience in the bike world, but i know that you never get a whole lump, it always has things missing eg carbs, various motors/pumps. all you get is.. the main lump!
i can see how someone would want to test the lump before fitting it, but there are ways to give it fuel, water etc to do a test.

just out of curiosity, how much do you sell hijet lumps for... or expect to pay for one these days?

Slight change in subject, what is the correct procedure for refilling the water system?. I got my Tuk Tuk back off the lad that has rebuilt it for me and it all worked fine. The fan cut in and out as it should and I was well impressed. I had to remove the radiator the ohter day and when I refitted it I tried to fill it up but it air locked and then the fan wouldn't cut in?. How should I have filled it?. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Scott.
