blower question?

Hi gang noticed today that my heater blower only works on the last setting, is this a common problem or sign of something more serious? not got round to sorting the under seat rad cap ordered new one fitted it but still passing plan to clean all the corrosion off and build it back up with gasket sealer. fingers crossed.

Heater blowers are a common problem, I need to wiggle mine to get it fast.....  

only fast works on mine. I do notice that there is a slight warm breeze on the windscreen when turned off

Recently done mine. The thing stopped completely.

I found that the tracks on the slider control were in a bad state and a soldered wire had 'dry-jointed'.

I just took it apart and cleaned everything up - and wet-jointed the connection.

Job's a gud'un....... 

That's interesting. Mine hasn't worked on slowest setting for some time and I presumed it was the rheostat but, as that's a pain to get to, I just put up with it. Maybe I'll have a look at the slider then.

Hhhmm! Must admit I would have guessed at the rheostat. Got a few heater units out so will have a look see tomorrow at the slider control.

A few people have mentioned dodgy switches, just the contacts from memory.
