3269 miles, 9 countries, 1 week in a 993
So we made it to Rome and back in the affectionally named "Burning Rubber", a 6 seater 993 bus.
When I bought her she was green and over heated.
Head skimmed and pressure tested, water pump, thermostat, radiator recored, radiator caps, system flushed, MAP sensor and load compensating valve (courtesy of Woody), plugs, oil, filters, cam belt, professional respray, stickers, ladders, blue/red flashing lights, sirens and a working water jet.
We left St Austell on 19th Sept then via, Dover to Dunkirk, Belgium, Germany including 2 laps of the Nurburgring (scary as hell), Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Italy. Going up and down the Stelvio Pass (as seen on Top Gear) had to remove the air box due to altitude (over 9000 ft) but she flew up no problem. Brakes got a little warm on the way down though?
Over 80 of us started and as Mercedes, Fords, Vauxhalls etc fell by the wayside the little bus went on and on without getting remotely hot and never missed a beat. The only problem was 1 puncture and the sirens went up in smoke.
Amazing vehicle and have become very attached but will probably have to move her on due to next years project. So if anyone knows of a good home for a mini fire engine or just back to a bus (everything easily removable) with an awning then after we have finished with the charity publicity stuff she will probably be up for sale.
A great adventure i would recommend to anyone.

Re: 3269 miles, 9 countries, 1 week in a 993
Sorry PFM but I need to sell as I have 4 cars and 4 motorbikes and mot tax and insurance all add up. It's a real shame cos it's a great vehicle and I'm really impressed with it.
People keep asking me for a Buy it Now price but I have no idea what it's worth. Would be nice to get a bit more cash for the charity.
Any ideas?

I've got 3 cars and 6 motorbikes, don't tax/insure them all at once

It's up to £850 now with over 3 days left - sincerely hope you get closer to 1500(+) than 1200 after all your efforts. Got to be worth that for novelty/film/comedy/hire value - we have a 70s fire-engine locally thats for hire as a limo (thought it's a bit bigger inside that a 'jet)

Now £1,019.99 - hope it gets to at least £1,500 for you, you deserve it for your efforts.

Sold it to some students from Bournemouth who want to do the Mongol rally in it and carry on collecting for my charity.
Couldn't have worked out better.
Will put them on to the forum.
