OMG It does put things into perspective lol , I had a Ex LWB LDV when I bought the Hijet but I never compared the two together lol , it really does show how versatile these little vans are .

I used to use my dads Fiat Ducatto for a bit of this and that.
Hijet wins hands down, better to knock about in, and I fit everything I need in it.
Although when its got:- Wakka plate, mixer, bags of cement, shovels, spades, couple of sledge hammers n picks, couple of tool boxes and a disc cutter in the back it does feel pretty loaded.
Bigger the van you have, the less you tend to have a clear out and it just collects crap. While my Hijet is always "clean and clear in the rear"

I learned to drive in Dad's Commer PB1500 - then I drove his VW LT and Transit as he progressed to them. When he died the van was an 82 Honda Acty, brilliant till it fell apart and I found the 1995 ex-demo Hijet (that I still have and drive daily). I agree with HJ - it's small enough that you can easily clear out the crap. I've seen guys with long VW's etc that are full of so much gear that they can't find stuff.
Having said that' I've got 2 component HiFi systems (in original boxes) plus the wooden housings in one van atm plus other crap - must get down to the garage soon!

As usual HJ you are bang on the mark. I found David who I do the flat roofing
with a long wheel base Toyota van-- the ones the carpet fitters love cos they
are soooo long , for £350 and it is a mobile tip all the time and he is such an
untidy worker too. Always moaning at him to clear up after we finish as its the
the thing the customer remembers most -- not the lovely job you have done
but how tidy it was after you swept up when finished.
Always clean up the customer's car inside and outside too.
Its that they always talk about -- not the painstaking job you did.
