yes, it's quite easy to remove the dash board actually.

Also I have a spare working wiper motor.

You won't be able to reach the server anymore. It was Highly Jetted's own site and he closed it down quite some while ago.

He was forwarding all the spares enquiries through to me and when I packed up due to too much demand for spares around the world he shut the site down very sadly.

It sounds like the nylon ball joint socket has come off the motor arm. If you can move the arms both together then it is likely to be that or the 10mm nut on the operating arm has worked loose and may have stripped the very fine splines on the drive shaft. Either way it is a complete dashboard out job.

Should take no longer than 20-30 minutes to get it out. Provided you have a a quarter inch drive socket set and loads of patience and enginuity.

Thanks lads!

Indeed very sad with the website. It held so much valuable infos. Maybe we can put the stuff on another server? I have webspace that could properbly host the site. At least a read only version as i dont have wordpress available i think.

Anyways you guys are awesome. I am very greatfull for the support. Hopefully no parts are fubar and i can get it back together.

Also the wipers always moved too far while it was still functioning. It went a bit over the edge of the window on either side, bottom and top. Maybe i can adjust that too while i am on it.

Did it today. Speedo Cable drove me nuts till i finally managed to rip it off pulling on the cable not the sleeve.

....and it was the ball joint. afro

Check out the pictures i took!

PS. I also needed a tiny phillips driver to undo the little screw holding the button of the choke leverage in place. Dont just rip it off  queen

No sound no motion no see.
When I bought the van the wipers were slow and had to use the fast setting. Sometimes I had to give them a push to get them started. Now nothing.

No way to get the motor out without dash out. Motor not making any noise? Have you checked the fuse and relay for the wiper already? They should be accessable without the dash job.

I have not checked the fuse, will try and have a look later. Where is the relay. May try putting my amp meter in line to see if it is drawing any current.

I dont know exactly wich relay/fuse is the one for the wipers. U can find it in he manual section i guess. Check the fuse first. If the motor doesnt move instantly on receiving voltage it will draw high current and may have killed the fuse. But its just a feeling.

And dont kill your Meter. Might draw more than 10 amps.

That is a very good point CJ. I must admit that I had overlooked that possibility. It could be the intermittent /continual wipe relay causing the problem.

Reading back on your post if you are having to give the wipers a push to get them going then I would say that the problem is definitely the Wiper Motor - be it the motor itself or the fragile self parking contacts.
If it is either then it is a dashboard out job.

Just been out to the store and dug out a complete loom.
The Wiper Relay as you can hopefully see is directly above the square fuse-box. You can remove the whole assembly
by removing the two Phillips screws. Pretty easy to get at.

Rotate the picture 90° right. Square lid is missing in this picture.
