Look at the post called second hand radiator switch by melboy in parts wanted. Can't post link as I'm on my phone. I photographed the one I took off the 1999 spares van I've got but I have a couple spare.
Were you hoses under the rad hot or cold?

Re: Fan No Worky..
Hoses and rad totally toasty, temp dropped when I put the heater on. ( well, the vans did... )

Nahhh, its from the metal coolant pipe, is yours in the radiator? Maybe the obd2 multicoil ones changed, let me know!
Re: Fan No Worky..
Was wrong mine's on the pipe, couldn't see it till I jacked it up
I'm reckoning it'll be a 22mm thread? I'd guess any 22mm thread one will do?
(will need to power up the fan first to see if it's that that's buggered first tho)

The wiring to the connector that plugs into the wee relay under the passenger seat. Switch was switching when shorted out, relay clicky, no fan. Pulled on the wiring, crumbly dusty mess. Remade the connector, all good.

Re: Fan No Worky..
Well the fan works fine, went a bit mental.and stripped the front brakes and greased up all the pins etc, 12 years of sitting sorted, even fitted new pads cos one side was worn oddly due to seized pins. Now starting a list of small jobs that need doing before the winter.
Nowt major, more like preventitive maintenance as after September the Mercedes will be tucked up in bed till next summer and the 'Jet will be sole means of transport so I cant afford any f*ck ups.
Still need to find a sunroof tho, I miss the old van for that.

Re: Fan No Worky..
Got some Logi but they are out of the 1000's which are a bit different to the later ones. I also some where have a brand new glass sunroof -- British made but fitted to Skoda's.
I think it may be a wee bit smaller but if you are interested ( and I can lay my hands on it ) it has two or three positions and the glass lifts out completely if required ( handy for stuffing l
long drain pipes out of I found ).
You can have it for a tenner plus postage. If you are interested I will find it and send you the measurements.

Is that the one that had an aerial built into it?

Re: Fan No Worky..
Yes the Estelle and the Rapid and Felicia
all had the aerial overlaid like a heated rear window and a tiny plug in wire .
Made some money out those motorized Skips though and
had a LOT of fun out-handling most cars in my Rapid
Coupe with an 1800 Alfa Twincam in the back.
Double the BHP in one go. 65 to 120bhp.Did shift.

Skip it ?? That's a shame. After spending over an hour looking for something that is more elusive than the brief sighting of a Scotsman's wallet, you don'tLogi wrote:Sunroof? Skoda? Skip........
want it coz its got Skoda printed on it. Never mind -- some one else will have it.
Shame really as I was wrong --- it wasnt Skoda but is British made -- its a THERMA LITE and is damn good quality .I bought it in a £1000 job lot of Romahome bits I bought about 7 years ago and it still has the price THEN on it---- £128-96p.
Are you still sure you dont want it for a Tenner plus postage ???

Thanks Waz but did realise that this morning when I first read it -- but a little banter all helps with smiles doesnt it ?waz wrote:Woody, read Logi's post again

I did email Logi and let him know what I had done, but thank you anyway.
I heard so many damn Skoda jokes over and over again -- but I had the last laugh because I was the one making the money out of buying them for
Peanuts and making a damn good mark-up and then making more every time they went wrong--- you couldn't ask for much better really mate
