Glue in the right place or replace, are my only solutions.

Thanks, I've tried different types of glue and nut lock putty but all seam rather short term solutions. I wondered if any one had replaced the ball joint with something less adjustable and more permenant?

I drilled mine next to the ball affraid and put a bolt through to tighten it up, works fine.
