Some of you may know I live near a US Air Force base, on the base they use mini vans & a military mate who runs the various veichles (sp?) on base told me yesterday that they auction these off dirt cheap!!!!
There are 60 odd due for crushing coz no one wanted to buy them!
I am gonna find out more about this.....

Now I know why we haven't heard from Woody lately - he's heading for Suffolk!
Well worth finding out more, LP.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Well my mate runs a car transporter business, and I have plenty of storage. So if the price is right I'd have a couple.
Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Glad to see you back Emma
I can't help but feel we got off on the wrong foot.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Why's that then?
Was it something to do with you calling me a lush after my partner had just passed away?
Don't worry I've put up with a lot worse shit in my long and busy life.
But anyway not to worry.
More to the point we would really like to know what's happening with these Hijets, sounds like a chance not to be missed.
I'll send you our phone number in a message.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Things take time, especially in these organisations.
But I have space and cash waiting if these Hijets ever get released.
And I'm not bothered about the duty side, it's no biggie really.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Thanks for the mention PFM. The reason I have been off-line for all this time is that PC World made a complete cockup of repairing my laptop.
It has taken them five and a half weeks to fit a new complete keypad and trackpad due to total incompetence by staff here on the Island and their workshop in Sheffield.
I wont bore any of you with the details but my previous remark about what PC stands for ( Procrastinating Cretins ) doesnt even come near the mark.
Perhaps Logi or others can come up with a better version of PC .
Anyway its great to be back on this site at last. I am trawling my way through all that I have missed out on of your comments.
My next goal now my laptop is performing as it should is to find the emails Logi and several of you so kindly sent me and get the mastery ( or in my case mystery ) of uploading the piccies long since promised.
I am breaking up an S reg 3cylinder van with an excellent engine (49,000 miles) and good doors, gearbox, axle, rad, bumpers etc and a 1300 van with knackered engine and similar parts to the 1000 van if any-body is in need of bits.
I hang on to lights mirrors etc for ones I have for sale.
I dont want to tread on HJ's toes so ALWAYS try him first but if he is unable to help for more obscure or little items you are welcome to ask and if I can help out I will only be too glad to assist. All the best, Woody.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
Thanks for the thought but.....
I don't sell bits mate! I had one van for breaking, and I only did that because it was the cheapest way to get all the bits I needed for the other ones. That's pretty much raped of all its worth, still got some odd bits but all the good quick cash meat has gone.
I really only sold the bits off to people who were asking for stuff, more to help people out and meet other Hijet owners, plus it covered the cost of the van.
I'm not into Hijets for the money, not at all, I'm not sure how I got this far into Hijetism. Boredom, and a love of messing with cars - and hijets attract people who arn't your typical boy racer dumb ass nob head.

Re: Hardly used cheap hijets?
It started as more of a hobby for me, but has become an obsession for me too.
I break them for the bits to buy more Hi-Jets to keep my own ones going and pay the rent, rates, electric, water rates, vehicle insurance, phone etc on my workshop all of which costs me around £150 a week.
Its all done in what little spare time I have after my everyday Handyman business. But like you I like to help people out but the main difference is that you have the first-hand very broad knowledge of them. I am still a novice.
