Right! I'm needing to get my sounds sorted for my van.
Now, with our vans having a love for pot-holes, speed humps and crappy road surfaces, any problems with cd player playing music (jumping).
Just wondering what people are using.
Never had this problem with my 8-track cartridge player Very Happy .

I've just installed a cd head unit thats currently on offer in Aldi for £30! Plays cd,mp3 has a usb slot,sd slot, bluetooth, aux in the lot!!
And I can confirm from rigorous testing on the dodgy roads and huge speed bumps round here that it doesn't skip!

Cheers

Matt

We have the previous version from Lidl which is the same bar the bluetooth and works fine cd's do skip if it gets a bit rough but I tend to use cds in the mp3 format which reads in a different way and it has to be bloody rough to make them skip and if on a sd card or usb stick they never jump at all ours also has an aux. imput so mp3/ipod no probs I use this to run the phone through for nice safe? hands free driving.

I'm also looking get the AV sorted in the van. What sort of power output can the alternator / battery take? Before anyone leaps to conclusions I'm not looking for a Saxo chav sound-system-on-wheels result, but I am thinking of linking in DVD player and screen so I can watch films when in camping mode and I get a day of rain Rolling Eyes I suppose leisure battery is the answer but where do I put one of them?!?!!? scratch

I got a cd player from a friend of mine, but I'm not entirely sure where to start in wiring it in. When I wired in my cigarette lighter socket, I noticed a few other wires that I assume would have run to the old radio, but I'm really not sure. Is there a howto on this? Cheers.

Its ok, we know yer a closet chav Wink

Thought about a 2nd battery if I converted mine, depending on your abilities/contacts/money id thought about cutting out the old battery box and fitting a new one with room for 2 batteries. There is room underneath to do it?

Depending on size (battery) you could take off one of the trim cards over the rear arch which will give you some depth build a cupboard over it so you can mount the battery over the arch and make a storage area above the battery.
