1998 hijet wont run

Hi All
ive bought a 1998 hijet van that i cant get started ive tried bump starting it and got it running but have to keep it at high revs to keep it running.
ive unbolted the distrabutor bolt and turned it whist cracking it over and it tries to fire but still cant get it to run.
any ideas

Just some ideas:-

Maybe have a look to see the head gaskets gone? What's the coolant levels like. Does it bubble and gurgle out the cap when your rev'ing it.

Map sensor and especially the vacume pipe work to the Map as it seems common that they break, TPS sensor next.

Hi take a look at the plugs when we got ours we had seen it running and when we went back to collect it wouldn't start, it had a rad leak and the guy had been starting up the van and keeping it topped up with water so it had only run on choke for a short time every time he did it although when we did eventually get it bumped it did run ok but again wouldn't start the next time I went to run it up after the rad had been changed so a set of plugs and it has started fine ever since and plugs can break down under load so spark fine if you take them out to check but not properly in the motor, For less than a tenner it's worth doing if that don't fix it then it's time to start testing your way back.
