fuel pump live all the time
hi my daughter jet has a problem its a 2000 1.3 i got her it end of december but the battery goes totally flat after a few hours of standing it has a new battery so yesterday we decided to take a look when touching the battery cable onto the battery can hear a relay click turns out its for the fuel pump which has a live supply permanently anybody had this issue surely it should be ign control because the in tank pump is just going all the time at the moment until the battery is so flat it stops

Is that even with the ignition off?

yep all the time battery is connected

Well that's not ideal. Something must be connecting the circuit when it shouldn't. Has any electrical work been done on the van recently that might have caused it? Otherwise, the ignition switch might be the place to start investigating as the pump shouldn't run with the ignition off.

just bought the van few weeks ago it had some dodgy wireng in the rear for ligtd and radio we just removed the lot so i dont know if it was a problem before i am going to take a look see if last owner has wired it through a switch as a anti theft device
