Well we will soon find out as Skylark is to exhibit at the National Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC in November. She will be in the Pride of Ownership competition area so if you are thinking of going, come and give her a vote.
Top ten finalists revealed

Can’t believe we have made it and it’s now dawning on me what I have done! It’s rapidly getting closer and being a bit anal means I have lots of small jobs to finish off that were not important at one stage.

So it’s fingers crossed but gust getting there to display her is a win for me. Part of getting there is down to this forum, so thanks guys, I will take some photos so you can join me on the journey.

Well done, some classy company there as well. Not certain yet, but I may get up to the NEC this year. Will let you know if it works out but yes, pics of the journey always welcome.

Congrats Raggy - brilliant. Get all those little jobs done because you won't be happy until Skylark is as perfect as you can make her. You and your HiJet are great representatives of our collective interest and hobby and you'll do us proud.

Thanks, here is a link to a page describ8ng the full list of 20 finalists FULL LIST Skylark in some very quality company! Hope it gets the Hijets shown up that they are a classic. Could do with weather being a bit dryer as it won’t fit in garage to do the jobs, done ‘most’ of the outside jobs but will need next weekend dry to fully clean it now! Fingers crossed.

Am very jealous, wish I woz there. Skylark looks ace, not out of place at all. Hope you get a chance to look around, it'll be rammed for the next 3 days. Liking the Million Minor, Interceptor, Ital, Midget, etc etc etc. Is that really my old bull bar under that shiny paint?

I am afraid it is, looks better from afar though. The ‘coating’ I had put on turns out to have been so thin it’s almost useless so it will get done again at some point by a better company I have found. They did my corroded rear light guards which came back like new and surviving well. May have to come back next year to get a look around, gets busy I am told. Only chance will be before public gets let in.

Busy? You have no idea if my experience back in 2009 is typical. I seriously want a 3-day ticket for my visit next year. Please let me know if there are any quieter periods.

Someone said yesterday that when they exhibited on the same stand they just didn’t have a minute to get a coffee....now that is dangerous territory!

Oh, you don't have the missus or someone else to do that for you? Can you go all day without the loo? Very Happy

If only it were a camper with self-contained facilities, you could brew up for everyone! Enjoy your solo time

If they would only let me connect the gas bottle up, could make a killing selling tea and coffee, could even offer inside seating Very Happy

I think Raggy's still sleeping after the efforts of the weekend! Lots more pics from the NEC on another forum, https://autoshite.com/topic/37943-2019-nec-classic-motor-show-8-10-november/page/2/
