1997 V reg, Hi-Jet 1300 Panel van (petrol)
Both the van and i are getting on a bit so one of us has got to go !!!!
Just found out that the exhaust is shot so won't pass next Mot in September (needs exhaust & cat)
65000 miles & runs ok but bodywork is a bit tatty
You can have it for £300 as a legal runner till September or for spares.
We are based in Winchester, Hampshire
Any questions fire away

Cat gone at that mileage? Unusual - back box for sure, I'd replace that & try another garage

And I have a very good COMPLETE 993cc exhaust system just across the water on the Isle of Wight. thehijetmaniow@gmail.com

Its a Piggy Back Exhaust System PFM, but unlike the 1300 Piggy Back Systems both are welded together. Hence the reason for both having to be replaced. Tailpipe unbolts I seem to remember, so it can be very handily carried on the Red Funnel Southampton Ferry by a foot passenger.

It's not a 97 if it's a V reg?

Re: 1997 V reg, Hi-Jet 1300 Panel van (petrol)
Going blind as well as senile . Just noticed the 1997 bit and not the 1300 bit. Makes it a much better deal altogether. It was late last night!! V reg probably 1999. Could be Piggy Back or In-line.
Some of the Piggy Back Exhaust systems did have unboltable Cats. In-line systems definitely 2 part system.
If a new Rear box is needed for the in line system, the best person to try is Neil Farrier at Regis Exhausts.
Mobile number is 07906 860717.

Re: 1997 V reg, Hi-Jet 1300 Panel van (petrol)
Sorry all it is a 99 reg, 6th October 1999 to be exact.
The exhaust will need sorting i believe for next MOT, panel around cat rusted thru & fell off in my hand also has at least two leaks from the system.
Due to medical reasons i am no longer working so van is just taking up space & might as well go while the MOT is current
Same reason above why im not fixing exhaust
Good to see your responses though

Can you email me some pictures of it please. If there is a shield on the Cat then it is definitely Piggy Back System.
If you are able to drive it down to Southampton I may well be interested. Thank you very much. thehijetmaniow@gmail.com

Cat sits beside main box so that should resolve the exhaust type for you.
Will do pics later {subject to weather} as i am dog sitting at the moment.
No reason why i can't drive van to Soton
Will come later with photos

Glad you have got sorted. Saves time and travel. Nearly always better buying nearer to home. Which model have you bought a 1300 or 1000 model ??

The bad thing about the Suzy is the lack of ability to carry a motorcycle.

Finally got over to Southampton and bought Alan's Hi-Jet. He very kindly brought it down to Red Funnel Ferry Terminal for me.
It drives really well apart from a slight bit of axle movement when the throttle is released. Probably U bolts need tightening. It goes very well indeed. Going to start cleaning the paintwork up with the Buffer tomorrow and have a good look around it.
Both door cards are in very good condition so they will be replaced and good ones kept. The nearside headlight is excellent so that will be swopped over too. Probably find a few other things to switch over before I put it up for sale. Trouble is, it is a good runner so may keep it until I can get my 02 plate 1 Owner Dual Fuel red Van fitted with a 1600 lump. I have been at the garage all day today and thoroughly enjoyed it.
First time since November. Winter will be over hopefully by end of March and in the meantime I will get the roof finished and my racking in place for much increased storage. Then I can get on with my sales vehicles and projects.
