Sliding door window glass

I have to replace the glass in one of the sliding doors of my Hijet 1300 EFI. I assume the rubber/felt surround has to be removed from outside the door and the glass inserted bottom first from outside. Then lowered to the bottom and the surround re-inserted. Is this correct? Has anyone attempted the job? Also, I have to get a new winder mech. I have asked 'emmabskin'; has anyone else got any??
