Hi, I have aPiaggio Porter van 2005, the drivers door has dropped making it slam into the catch when closing it. the door closes more easily when I lift it slightly but I know if I continue this practice I will be searching for a new handle.

So how do I go about fixing this please any info would be gratefully received. I have a DVD repair manual that I have waded thru but in the Chassis section there appears to be nothing about adjusting the door closing that means owt to me.

I look forward to hearing from you, thanks in advance,

Nigel.

The hinges are probably worn so i would take a look at those. They may need replacing.

It will be the top hinge on the drivers side.

I think you can swap them round.

Just need a 12mm ratchet spanner.

For a temporary measure I just get my Mobile Bear Traps under  the bottom edge ( below door handle)  and Gorilla the door upwards so the lock and catch line up and it shuts like new.
Not the proper way  I know but have used the same trick on all cars for the past 35 years.
Doesn't work on early Mini's though with exterior hinges.!!

I have  plenty of hinges if you so desire.

Hi Woody,

I swapped the top hinges over, near side off side, there is still a bit of slop caused by the bottom hinge on off side so I will probably need one at some time. How much are they.

BigRon.
